My favorite place to stay! Innkeepers Dana and Chris are doing what they meant to do in life and it shows in their joy in running this beautiful inn. They genuinely love each guest and help everyone feel right at home. Belvedere is a great greeter as well--always with a smile on his face. The BEST place to stay in Kalamazoo/Portage area! This is my second stay of more than 3 days and would definitely stay here again and would recommend Stuart Avenue Inn to others as well.

As Kalamazoo locals, we've always seen the Inn and dreamed of staying someday. The perfect chance arrived while hosting a large group of performers for our annual Halloween Belly Dance event. Chris and Dana took extra special care of us and even went out of their way to make a spot for our group of night owls to catch up during the evening after our event.

The amazing architectural details of the home are more than enough to bring us back. Add such friendly hospitality, comfortable beds and delicious homemade meals and you've got some serious fans! We're already planning our next retreat at the Stuart Avenue Inn!

Stuart Inn was a stop over for us on our way up north. We must have looked exhausted because the Innkeeper offered us a gl... of wine. What a welcome after a day of driving. Belvedere greeted us but was soon more interested in the urban wildlife. Early breakfast for us was no problem. Great way to start our Michigan vacation.

Stayed as part of a group renting the whole house for wedding guests. Innkeepers made special effort to prepare food for a variety of eaters (gluten free, lactose intolerant, vegan) and it was all good. Great to have the house to roam and the gardens were nice place to relax. Spent most of the time on the porch! Thanks for taking such good care of us.

To Chris and Dana - I just wanted to let you know how wonderful my stay was. The house was gorgeous and fascinating, and breakfast was TO DIE FOR. Thank you so much for accommodating me - it was great to have somewhere relaxing to stay in such a high-stress situation.

Simply put if you are looking for a clean, relaxing place to stay, the Stuart Avenue Inn is your place. Darn, I'll have to come back for the brownies and pancakes.

Thank you Chris and Dana for a beautiful, tasty lunch yesterday, 9/7/10. Chris, you should enter those brownies in a contest! Everything was so perfect - the setting, the wholesome, tasty food; the delightful host and hostess; and of course the always entertaining Belvie.

I just spent 4 fabulous nights at the Inn to attend my cousin's wedding and I have nothing but compliments for Dana, Chris, and Mr. Belvedere. I booked my room 2 weeks before I was to arrive ... no problem (though, I bet soon it will be because word will spread on this best kept secret). My flight from NJ came in at night so I needed a late check-in ... no problem. I stayed in the Cook's Quarters and not only were the room and accommodations great, I truly felt at home. The smell of breakfast in the morning was a good way to start my day. The food needless to say was the best I have tasted. A Sunday brunch scheduled 2 days before it happened ... again, no problem. Fresh Fruit, Bacon, Apricot Cream Cheese French Toast C...erole,
Juice (Orange and Cranberry), Coffee and Tea was the menu. The Bride's allergy to eggs - no problem. Since I am allergic to my cousin's cat, I will definitely stay here again when I come visit her. Staying here is so much better than any hotel could be.

Just returned from our second stay at Stuart, but our first with Dana, Chris and Belvie. We just wanted to say thanks again for such a fine experience over K College graduation weekend. I know how hard you work to make your guests feel at home, and we sure did appreciate it. Much success, friends, and I hope we can return someday soon.

Dana and Chris are gracious, generous hosts. The inn is delightfully quirky — that's a good thing! — the kind of thing that has you saying, "Hey, look at this!" And Belvedere is a great greeter, especially in the dining room. Joan and I are looking forward to our next visit.
