 Remembering Mom Afternoon Tea ($25/person):  An afternoon tea held annually on the Sunday before Mother’s Day 2-4 pm.  A time set aside for those whose mothers (and mother figures) are no longer present in body – though forever present in spirit.  An opportunity to gather and to share memories from the heart – accompanied, of course, by a selection of sweet and savory treats and brewed teas.  Make your reservations by calling the Inn at 269 342-0230.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo of their loved one.

• Providing hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes in guest rooms, breakfast rooms, and common rooms.
• Replacing buffet set-ups with plated courses.
• Replacing self-serve coffee/tea service with table side poured service, and individual carafes/tea pots.

Most Innkeepers purchase their items locally be it in town, or in state.

A good biscuit is light with well-defined flaky layers. Growing up on the East Coast, as I did, biscuits were most often served with a slab of butter and dripping with honey – or as the “short” bread basis for a Strawberry Short Cake. My partner grew up in Southern Illinois where biscuits almost always come with gravy. In either case, the biscuit is sturdy – not a descriptor of any decent scone.
