The Menu:

Classic Finger Sandwiches such as cucumber & radish, smoked salmon, chicken salad, and a few of our own creations.

British Tea Scones served with preserves & clotted cream.

Desserts, including our own take on British favorites such as Victoria sponge, lemon posset, shortbread, and éclairs.

Served with classic British Teas including English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, and herbal blends from our local Chocolatea.

This event is designed to celebrate the beauty of poetry in a relaxed and picturesque setting.  Attendees are asked to bring a poem (or two) to recite.  Whether a beloved classic, contemporary masterpiece, or personal creation, your chosen poem will be a wonderful addition to the afternoon’s festivities.  A selection of herbal, green and black teas from our local Chocolatea will be served along with seasonal fruits and light desserts.

Dress:  Casual.  Weather permitting, the event will be held in the Garden.

A landmark of Kalamazoo’s Historic Stuart neighborhood, the Inn radiates the same timeless grace and warmth as that of our dearest friendships.  If you see each other often – come celebrate the treasure you share.  If you haven’t seen each other recently – catch up and rejoice in the bonds that withstand the test of time and distance. Tables will be spread throughout the Inn’s first floor parlors and dining room to permit you plenty of space to converse.

Guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of teas from our local tea house – Chocolatea, including:

• Classic Black Teas: Such as Darjeeling, Earl Grey, and English Breakfast
• Green Teas: Such as Jasmine Green
• Herbal Teas: Featuring Chamomile, Peppermint, Ginger, Orange, and Rooibos

Accompanying the tea will be an assortment of sweet and savory delicacies including finger sandwiches, scones, seasonal fruits, and delicate sweets.
