Tailored Events
Stuart Avenue Inn is a unique venue for small to medium events. The Inn has long hosted a variety of gatherings – from showers, to teas, to graduation parties, remembrance luncheons, staff appreciation, barbeques, poetry readings, book clubs, private dinners and more. We work with you to tailor the space and design an event that fits your style. Below you’ll find information on some of our more popular gatherings. Whether you’re looking for that vintage feel, or something bigger than your own backyard, or an event you don’t have to prep for, work, or clean-up after, you are welcome to make an appointment to visit the Inn.
Tea Events
At first blush, the idea feels antiquated in our otherwise grab-n-go culture. But taking time to pause over fragrant aromas, on your own or with a friend, can restore, repair, even energize you. Stuart Avenue Inn hosts several teas and tea-related events throughout the year, and may be reserved for additional private teas. Unless otherwise noted, Teas include up to three brewed teas, accompanied with savory and sweet treats, all served on china with cloth linens.
Below is our 2020 schedule. Gift Certificates are also available.
Tea & Poetry (for adults): Sunday, April 19, 2-4pm
Due to health concerns and in keeping with requests to limit human contact – this event has been cancelled. Join us as we celebrate National Poetry Month. Reclaim your love of words, word-images, rhythms and rhymes. Poetry is meant to be read aloud, so bring a favorite to share whether it’s a classic, a little-known gem, or something you’ve written. Come join us for an informal afternoon of Tea and Poetry. Poetry by you; treats provided by Stuart Avenue Inn – after all tea is poetry poured. Cost is $18 person (no cost for poems). Call to reserve your seat.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a photo of their mom as a way of including her at the table. All – of course, accompanied by assorted teas, and sweet and savory treats. Cost is $25/person; $40 for two.

Tea & Poetry (for children): Sunday, October 18, 2-4pm
Poetry is something we all seem to love as children. The rhythms and rhymes. The images, and word play. But, by the time we’re adults, the dissecting and analyzing has worn us down. Before that happens, consider joining your child at the Stuart Avenue Inn for poetry and enchantment. Bring a favorite poem (or poems) to read aloud, or come to hear something new. Child-friendly treats provided. Cost is $30 for two, $40 for three. Call to reserve your seat.

Holidays
TOP THREE REASONS to host your Holiday Get-Together at the Stuart Avenue Inn.
1. Our first floor is suitable for dining, conversation, gift exchange, holiday games, and seasonal treats enjoyed against a backdrop of quite music and festive holiday touches. Avoid the din of a noisy restaurant. You’ll have room to stretch and relax without bumping into other guests. Best of all – it works well for extended and multi-generational celebrations.
2. Plan the menu with the Innkeepers or have it catered from your favorite local restaurant. Go fancy, casual, eclectic, traditional. Complete buffets, or plates of cookies. You choose.
3. No cleaning, prepping, decorating, or overseeing this event. You actually get to enjoy your party while giving guests your undivided attention. Best of all – at the end of the evening – you get to go home while we clean up.
