Reader’s Weekend Package:  Fri/Sat, Oct 28/29, 2022

We’ve carved out a special weekend for true bookworms, bibliophiles, logophiles and lovers of the written word.   We’ve been there – can’t find time to finish that intensely satisfying, engrossing, indulgently pleasurable book.  It waits on the nightstand, beckoning to too tired eyes.  It sits on the side table or at the foot of a comfortable chair sighing wistfully.  The phone, the kids, the parents, the TV, a myriad of life’s interruptions stand between you and adventure, passion, laughter, intrigue, moments of saving grace.  Whether fiction, fact, history, drama, comedy, parody, tragedy, short story, poetry or saga – true enjoyment requires peace, quiet, a comfortable chair or bed, and periodic snacks.  The Stuart Avenue Inn provides all of that – and more.

Stay Friday/Saturday October 28-29 – you and your book(s) – hard, paper, or e.  We provide comfortable chairs and beds, quiet public and private spaces, a constant supply of beverages and snacks – and a $30 gift certificate to one of 3 local independent book stores.

$450.00 all inclusive.  Request package when making reservation.  Also available as a Gift Certificate for the Bookworm in your life.

Split Screen: 1930's image of Mother in a hat seated for a portrait with four children, a boy on her right in a suit, the youngest girl in her lap and two older girls on her left. The girls have dresses and bows in their hair. Mother and adult daughter arm in arm walking in a plaza in the 1930's.

SOLD OUT  Remembering Mom Tea: Sunday before Mother’s Day. 4-5:00pm

For some, Mother’s Day is as lovely and enchanting as the commercials portray. For others, the day is fraught with loss, grief, and bitterness; or a messy mixture of joy, gratitude, and regret. For some it will be their first Mother’s Day without her, for others, their twenty-first.  If this applies to you or someone you know – consider joining us at Stuart Avenue Inn as we take time out for us on this difficult day.  Sharing is optional; tears are acceptable; silence is respected. Sometimes it is enough just to be in the company of others. Of course, tasty scones, tea sandwiches and desserts will be served with assorted warm and nurturing teas. Treat yourself this Mother’s Day.

Valentine’s Day Celebration Tea: Sunday, February 13, 2022, 3-4:30

YES, VIRGINIA, VALENTINE’S DAY IS FOR EVERYONE.

Help us reclaim the joy of Valentine’s Day for everyone. Not in a heart-pounding relationship? Feeling bereft? Missing someone? As certainly as love, generosity & devotion exist, so do our hearts rejoice at a friend’s embrace, a brother’s joke, a sister’s gentle touch, a stranger’s smile.  Alas! how dreary would be the world if we were unable to celebrate the bonds of friendship, the beauty of a life knit together over years of joy & sadness, and the love of those cradled in our hearts. That we can give & receive such love is surely deserving of an afternoon’s delight.   So join Stuart Avenue Inn for tea, sandwiches, and treats in celebration of the many aspects of love that bring light & warmth to us even on a chilly Winter’s Day. Cost is $30/1 ticket; $25/2+ tickets. Reservations required. Call 269 330-5350  Proof of vaccination required prior to admittance. Masks to be worn except when eating.

Holidays

TOP THREE REASONS to host your Holiday Get-Together at the Stuart Avenue Inn.

1. Our first floor is suitable for dining, conversation, gift exchange, holiday games, and seasonal treats enjoyed against a backdrop of quite music and festive holiday touches. Avoid the din of a noisy restaurant. You’ll have room to stretch and relax without bumping into other guests. Best of all – it works well for extended and multi-generational celebrations.

2. Plan the menu with the Innkeepers or have it catered from your favorite local restaurant. Go fancy, casual, eclectic, traditional. Complete buffets, or plates of cookies. You choose.

3. No cleaning, prepping, decorating, or overseeing this event. You actually get to enjoy your party while giving guests your undivided attention. Best of all – at the end of the evening – you get to go home while we clean up.

The first floor can accommodate events up to 40. Sit down events are most comfortable when they do not exceed 24. $550 gets you the use of the ground floor, chairs, tables, linens, accommodations for coats, and a first floor restroom. Additional charge for food if handled by the Inn.

Call to schedule a time to view the property and discuss your specific requirements. We are happy to work with you.
